Copa Airlines Reviews

Copa Airlines’ company slogan “Connected, everything is possible.” shows a strong conviction that the airlines can accommodate all passengers regardless of where they’re from or where they’re headed. The airlines has been operating for 7 decades.
Let’s sink our teeth into details.

Its First Flight and Still Soaring

The national flag carrier of Panama also known as Compañía Panameña de Aviación (COPA) in Spanish was founded on June 21, 1944 by Panamanian investors with a 32% stake from Pan American World Airways. Copa Airlines inaugurated its first flight on August 15, 1947 with a Douglas DC-3 aircraft and international flight in the 1970s.

Copa Airlines Reviews-Pedro Heilbron
Pedro Heilbron

Pedro Heilbron served Copa Holdings S.A. for 27 years as their Chief Executive Officer. Copa Holdings is the parent company of Copa Airlines. Mr. Heilbron is a 56-year old Panamanian president and also the CEO of Copa Airlines. He once said on his twitter account “We operate an efficient airline with very competitive costs, approaching those of low-cost carriers.”

Copa Airlines serves 67 destinations in 30 countries with over 8,700 employees worldwide. The airline’s strategy from 2000 onwards was to focus mainly on growth and expansion and this has been an effective plan by Mr. Heilbron. In 2013 the airlines grew its capacity by 14% and their revenue grew by 16%

Copa Airlines Services

Main Cabin and Business Class wherein customers are served with an array of Panamanian dishes, southern and international cuisines with complimentary beverages including wines and juices. Recently Copa Airlines upgraded their Business Class seats to make it more comfortable with better recline and leg support.
Copa Airlines Reviews-onboard
To keep their passengers entertained, the airlines provides on board magazines called Panorama of the American, personal electronic devices can be used on board and seatback AVOD (audio/video on demand) with a variety of movies, TV shows and music channels.

PC and Mobile Version

Their official website looks simple and unattractive. Customers might think the airline itself is a scam given the interface, which is a gloomy choice of blue and white. However the website’s main features let travellers book flights, hotel reservations, car rentals, check-in online, manage booking.
Copa Airlines Reviews-ConnectMiles
The sub options provide customers flight information such as airline policies, travel insurance, inflight services and their frequent flyer program ConnectMiles. In case of language barrier, the language sector is located at the top right of the page next to the live chat option Ask Ana.

Customers don’t have to scroll further down to see other services or advertisements because basically the layout of Copa Airline’s official website is compressed into a one page view. Seems to me like a not updated and rushed web design. On a positive note, it is shown as secured by Norton and McAfee anti-virus.Copa Airlines Reviews-mobile version

The Copa Airlines travel app is available in the App store and Google Play store, ready for customers to download, it provides similar features as the PC version. However Copa Airlines reviews show bad feedback about the travel app and was even considered as the worst airline app ever.

Copa Airlines Reviews

Scrutinizing some Copa Airlines reviews, the airlines is receiving a lot of negative comments and complaints lately. However let me share with you one recent review of a loyal customer. On the 19th of October 2015, one gentleman said that he flew several times with Copa and every time was different. From old airplanes and bad food, to nice airplanes and good service. He was really pleased with his last flight. Overall he considered the airline decent but will try to fly with other airlines next time.  He was not fully satisfied with his Copa experience but still gave the airline a 6/10 rating.

In A Nutshell

Checking other Copa Airlines reviews, the airline had evidently made me believe that continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection. Copa Airlines has consistently made their way up since Day 1 in 1944. They even were nominated consecutively as “Mexico & Central America’s Leading Airlines” What can you say about them? 1. Due to bad weather flight departed late from BOG. Only 5-10 min transfer time in Panama before the connecting flight to MGA. Immediately after landing my name was called picked up at the gate and informed by ground staff at which gate my connecting flight would depart. Connecting flight waited for me and departed immediately. Most surprising Copa and PTY managed to get my luggage on the plane to MGA (in less than 10 minutes!). Never seen anything like that.
