In 2000, Javier Pérez-Tenessa de Block and Mauricio Prieto established one of the biggest online travel agencies nowadays: “eDreams”. The travel company was ever since headquartered in Barcelona, Spain and launched in the Spanish and Italian markets, becoming the first online travel agency to offer its services in Spain.

In 2006, eDreams was acquired by TA Associates for €153 million, though in 2010, Permira purchased eDreams from TA Associates to a close €350 million deal. EDreams ODIGEO was formed from the merger with Go Voyages and acquisition of Opodo and Travellink, becoming the largest travel agency in Europe, and the 5th largest in the world.

What is eDreams?

Browsing the interface eDreams, I wonder if I am looking at the biggest travel site in the world. To be honest, I am not even convinced. Rome2rio and Roadtrippers were the travel sites that look convincing. Basically, eDreams looks like an official site for Ryanair (which they are not). On a positive note, eDreams lets travellers search and compare for their desired destinations online, either for flight bookings, hotel reservations, or car rental services. The site is easy to navigate or understand. They kept eDreams simple and organized.

EDreams also has a mobile version of all of their services. The travel app is available on both the App Store and Google Play Store. To learn more about their mobile app, feel free to visit the following information:

eDreams Reviews of Customers

However, eDreams is not as popular as it is with its consumers. According to recent feedback posted online, they define E for nightmare. Other eDreams reviews had been continuously complaining about their services, particularly about the sudden cancellation of booking and unrefunded transactions.

One recent review on June 7, 2016 had experienced the same case when he said:
“I received an email after discussing the matter with eDreams that the booking was cancelled and I will get my refund back but nothing. I keep calling edreams heaps of time they always hang up the phone on me. I am very frustrated of their service.”

EDreams always has problems with erratic changes since then. Since they are partnered with more than 100 flight companies, they’ve had issues relaying accurate, updated pricing information and much of the online negativity stems from customers being lured to a purchase by one price then given another, post purchase.

  • Website URL:                  http://www.edreams.com/
  • Contact Number:           00 34 934 92 05 33
  • Head Office Address:    World Trade Center Barcelona, 08039 Spain

EDreams as the largest independent European online travel agency sure had been productive in the past 16 years. However, they should be looking after some of their few errors, especially customer concerns. Because, they may result to something more unpleasant in the long run. As for now, eDreams is popular but not everyone trusts the travel site after all the unanswered complaints.

  1. I completed my booking procedure online, have had the money for the booking taken out of my account but have not received any sort of confirmation, neither positive nor negative.
