The adaption to chocolate made many people make chocolate in a self-satisfying style to eat & consume. Milton Hershey attended the Chicago International Exposition where he bought German chocolate-making machinery and began making chocolate-coated caramels. In 1984, Milton started the Hershey Chocolate Company in Pennsylvania and produced Hershey chocolate caramels, breakfast cocoa, sweet chocolate, and baking chocolate.
In 1930, Mars introduced Snickers named after the favorite horse of the Mars family. The idea for the Snickers bar came from an already existing snack that was made up of nougat, peanut, and caramel. Frank Mars added chocolate, put it in candy bar form, and started selling it wholesale.
Of course, if there’s Snickers then there’s Mars. Frank Mars surely had been making good chocolates. Mars was manufactured in 1932 in Slough, Berkshire, in the United Kingdom. Though, in the United States, a different confection bore the Mars bar name.
In 1824, John Cadbury opened a grocer’s shop at 93 Bull Street, Birmingham. Among other things, he sold cocoa and drinking chocolate, which he prepared himself using a pestle and mortar.
First produced in 1935 as “Rowntree’s Chocolate Crisp,” the KitKat received its modern name in 1937 when it began to be marketed as the “Kit Kat Chocolate Crisp.” Frustratingly, no one can confirm where its name came from, though it’s widely believed to be a reference to the famous Kit Kat Club: a 1920s Jazz nightclub in London‘s West End which was, for a long time, one of the city’s most popular venues.
This delicious pack of flavors started back in 1908 when Theodor Tobler, with his cousin Emil Baumann, developed a unique milk chocolate including nougat, almonds, and honey with a distinctive triangular shape as a premium dessert for royalties. Ferrero SpA in 1982 decided to mark his attribute by presenting the unique practice or confectionery in one golden box available.
