Since it has been a year, we will be starting to write new reviews about the travel sites we once wrote about last year, just to give you a heads up of the current status or changes of a particular online travel agency. Things can change in a span of a year, that’s why we decided on re-writing some of the written travel search engines and give you the freshest feedback for 2016.
In this review, we will be re-talking about helloworld.
helloworld Reviews 2016
Helloworld is the official travel site of helloworld.com, which are both owned by Helloworld Limited, a leading integrated travel company in Australia and New Zealand. Helloworld traces its roots back to July 22, 2013.
Jeremy Reitman has 14 years of experience in online marketing and is the Chief Executive Officer of helloworld. Did you know he used to be the director of SEO at Expedia? That’s odd in a bit. Well, Mr. Reitman brought big change to helloworld when it reported a loss of $3.51 million in 6 months (in 2013), and he decided to focus on digital services instead. Through that, helloworld increased for 1.2% in the following year.
In 2014, helloworld was honored with the award of “Australia’s Best Travel Agency Group” by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents National Travel Industry Awards. “Say Hello to a World where native technology meets marketing strategy to drive consumer demands.” That’s what is written in their company description.
How does helloworld work?
The Australian-based travel site is actually powered by Orbitz Worldwide; that pretty much shows on the interface of helloworld with a striking resemblance in its fonts and layout. Helloworld provides travellers the options to search and book flights either one-way or roundtrip, plus the services of searching for hotel reservations, cruises and car rentals. It is stated that helloworld has no online booking fees.
The right hand of helloworld shows a list of latest hotel deals with prices indicated and this featured list can be filtered by destination from Bali to Hong Kong, Honolulu, London, Los Angeles, New York and Singapore. Like other travel sites, the offers displayed can be changed by category if customers will choose at the headers between Hotel, Packages, Flights or Car Hire deals.
The travel mobile app of helloworld is available in the App store and Google Play store. This app provides the same features as the PC version and was awarded by Apple Inc., as one of iTunes’ “Best Travel Apps.”
If travellers have concerns that are not answerable by the mobile app or the official page itself, an option to talk with a live agent is shown at the bottom right of the page as their “virtual assistant” chat box. However, if customers want to send an open suggestion or comment, a feedback button is located next to the virtual assistant.
helloworld Reviews 2016 from Consumers
I guess their popularity isn’t as profound as it was last year, according to a trusted site in Australia known as ProductReview. Based on 365 helloworld reviews 2016, the travel meta search engine has now garnered an overall score rating of 3.6/5 which is really bad. Consumers who recently posted their concerns says that helloworld is as good as scam now. Some have even mentioned not to recommend helloworld to any of his friends.
Another concern is showing a sudden cancellation of hotel booking not being honored by the hotel itself. The customer attempted to call and email helloworld, but wasn’t able to reach them. Due to the lack of customer service and appropriate levels of care, he said that, “We have now incurred further expenses as a result of not being able to stay where we booked.”

In a nutshell, with all the helloworld reviews 2016 I scanned through, the online travel agency left me with an important lesson today. Their experience of near-downfall to rising was really inspiring. It reminds me of a good saying by Mr. Patton, “Success is how high you bounce when you hit the bottom”. This definitely reflects to Jeremy’s increase plan. Kudos to helloworld.
