HotelsCombined Reviews

HotelsCombined is an online hotel agency which provides travelers comprehensive collections of hotel packages. HotelsCombined was founded in 2005 by three former employees of HotelClub; Yury Shar, Brendon McQueen, and Michael Doubinski. Since the founders are just staying at home with no fixed income, fund raising for the financial capital of HotelsCombined took 9 months for them to gather and save up to hire their first employee.

Why HotelsCombined?

This picture of a grumpy polar bear leaves me hanging as to why it is their company symbol. I hope one day HotelsCombined will tell us the relation of the polar bear with travelling. Anyway, HotelsCombined’s main feature lets travelers search and compare hotel reservations, packages, and offers.
HotelsCombined is user-friendly for the results can be filtered to recommended, stars, price, distance, and guest rating. By default, the page displays list by recommended and from the cheapest price. HotelsCombined is very informative with this service.

HotelsCombined had gathered several awards in the past 10 years, the most recent achievement they were honored with was being “Website of the Year” by TRAVELtech awards 2010 and “Website of the Week” by Daily Mail. Prior to that, HotelsCombined was known as one of the top 10 travel websites ranked by

Why NOT HotelsCombined?

complaintsLooking at HotelsCombined reviews, customers are not happy with how things go with HotelsCombined. Other HotelsCombined reviews show that travelers are commenting mainly about the travel site  providing incorrect or inconsistent rates. Most of the recent reviews shown online are complete frustrations of users complaining about deals and hidden charges. One reviewer even complained recently about a paid reservation, but upon arriving at the hotel, said there were no booking or reservation made. She never got the refund from HotelsCombined.

We are more surprised to find out that it is not only consumers are complaining, but even hotels. One hotel representative had tried contacting them to remove their hotel from HotelsCombined’s database because they never approved anything in the first place. Until now, the said hotel kept contacting them with their call being dodged by HotelsCombined.

I love how they answer all positive and negative comments customers are throwing at them. HotelsCombined has a perfect sense of fair competition. What can you say about them?

  1. I travel a lot for work, mostly in Europe but in the States sometimes too. I am pretty tech savvy so I never only trust one site to find booking rates. But I found that puts ALL the deals from travelocity, expdia and the like on one page. It must have saved me over $2000 euros by now.
