Myanmar National Airlines Reviews
Myanmar used to be known as Burma or the Golden Land. Annually the Burmese celebrate Thingyan or the water throwing festival. In this festival, everyone throws water at each other, which symbolizes washing away of the previous year’s sins and bad luck. Let us all witness if this tradition is applied as well with their flag carrier, Myanmar National Airlines.
History and Facts
Myanmar National Airlines was founded in 1948 as the Union of Burma Airways (UBA). International flights commenced in 1950. In 1989, UBA was renamed to Myanmar Airways retaining the UB iconic for livery. However, due to some isolated instances in 2014, the airline was reborn to Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) with enhanced domestic services, new management, reservation system, enhanced website and new modern, yet traditional uniforms.
As the flag carrier of Myanmar, the airlines serves domestic and international flights with a total fleet size of 17 aircraft that includes their new Boeing 737. They are now being led by their CEO, Than Thun. He said “Our new 737 will allow us to expand our network to international markets and offer an even better experience for our passengers” and “Investing in new technology aircraft such as the 737 and 737 MAX will ensure Myanmar National Airlines continues to be the pride of the country and positions us for future success”
PC and Mobile Version of Services
Myanmar National Airlines caters services with Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class. These classes differ with their routes and their customer’s budget. A passenger under the Business Class gets the Executive Jet-like experience while Premium Economy flyers enjoy the airline’s Whisper jets.
Travelers are served with palatable Burmese cuisines as complimentary meals and a choice of hot or cold drinks. MNA doesn’t have a mobile application but they have an entertainment application ready to be downloaded in the App store and the Google play store as “airstream UB”. Airstream UB is their on board entertainment which provides a wide range of movies, TV shows, music.
The official website of MNA was simple and precisely designed to avoid traveler’s difficulty in navigating their website. It is quite noticeable that the company’s logo represents the national flower of Myanmar, Padauk. Padauk is a hardwood tree bearing golden fragrant flowers. Moving forward, like other airlines, MNA’s site lets travelers book, manage and check their flights and bookings. They can also get the latest news update on this page.
