Oman Air initially started in 1970 when Oman International Service (OIS) commenced. However the airlines began operation in 1993. The leader of the airlines is Mr. Paul Gregorowitsch. He made mass contribution to Oman Air’s developments beginning in August 2014. Mr. Gregorowitsch had held several international managing positions and one of which is with Air France-KLM.

The flag carrier of Oman has a fleet size of 39, consisting of 1 ATR 42/72, 10 Airbus A330, 23 Boeing 737, 1 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 4 Embraer ERJ-170. Their main base is the Muscat International Airport.

Their frequent flyer program is called Sinbad. Travellers earn Miles each time they fly with Oman Air. Sinbad has three kinds of loyalty memberships: Blue, Silver and Gold. Making calls and sending SMS in flight is possible with Oman Air. The airlines has an inflight connectivity service called WyFi, wherein travellers can purchase their desired level of connectivity.

PC and Mobile version of Service

The official website of Oman Air was uniquely redesigned with a new branding logo of gray and gold. The font size and style used on the page are readable and pleasing to the eyes. The main functions of the page gives travellers the ability to book a flight, manage bookings, check-in online and check flight status.

If travellers are on a different country or language, the option to change the country and language is located at the top center of the page. The lower part of the website gives information to travellers regarding the latest offers and vacation packages, services inflight, hotel deals and the Sinbad program.

The mobile app functions the same way as the PC version of the site, however customers can also enroll in Sinbad, see the virtual version of their Sinbad card, view Sinbad offers, check balance using the mobile app. The travel app is available on the App store and Google play store.

Viewing some of the Oman Air reviews, multiple feedback shows mostly praise and appreciation. This might be the reason why the airline had garnered a total score of 7/10 rating from 209 Oman Air reviews. Recent comments from passengers say that they will definitely fly with the national airline of Oman again since its worth the ride.

Conclusion

Reviewing other Oman Air reviews gave me the benefit of formulating this review based on a general consensus, seeing the airline this year receiving two awards from World Travel Awards Middle East 2015, as “Middle East’s Leading Airline – Business Class” and “Middle East’s Leading Airline – Economy Class”.

  1. LHR-MCT-BKK. Good selection of food well presented. Cabin crew attentive but not overbearing. Lounge in Muscat comfortable with good selection of food and facilities. Shared Emirates lounge in Bangkok.
