OneTravel Review

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

They say that the smallest steps eventually lead to the greatest achievements in life. Well, the initial step is always an essential part for almost everything in this world. In the travel industry for example, most of the travel sites who are presently renowned worldwide started out small.

One online travel agency in particular is OneTravel.com. The company literally started out small in a barn in Pennsylvania.

Beginnings

As was mentioned earlier, the first office of OneTravel was on a sheep farm in Pennsylvania, USA. Michael Thomas founded OneTravel in September 1995 and he served as the company’s chief operating officer until 2004.

OneTravel started expanding their reach every year and began extending their services worldwide. Currently, OneTravel is a subsidiary of FarePortal.

FarePortal CEO Sam Jain leads the OneTravel team. This happened after OneTravel CEO Werner Kunz took the COO position for FarePortal.

What people are saying

EAQR9AWOneTravel got a 1 out of a 5-star rating on ConsumerAffairs.com, there are 458 complaints filed against the online travel agency and that number has been growing. One traveler was frustrated when the company accidentally cancelled her flight, take note, accidentally. She wasn’t notified immediately and as a consequence of the flight cancellation, she had to pay the hotel fee for an extra day stay.

Another complaint was directed to their customer representative’s failure to relay information regarding seat selections to the airline. This woman was disappointed when she didn’t get the seat next to her sick husband; she wasn’t able to attend to her husband’s needs during the entire flight.

There was another complaint that will make you incensed and sardonic at the same time. One traveler made a mistake with one of the names in their bookings. She called OneTravel to fix the minute mistake. By the way, they only needed to change one letter, the company asked for a $50 fee in order to immediately process their request. Ridiculous right?

Most of the complaints are asking for justification from the company regarding their odd policies in handling customer concerns. Looks like the company has a lot of explaining to do.

MaLwMfgOn the other hand, OneTravel got an 8.7 out of 10-star rating on Trustpilot.com. Most of the reviews compliment the company’s flawless travel services and reliable deals. It’s really hard to determine which of the two review websites is being truthful. Maybe both of them, this could mean that OneTravel might really have a problem with consistently delivering quality service.

OneTravel’s momentum in the industry right now isn’t progressively aimed at addressing customers concerns. However, it is evident that they need major improvement and evaluation of their management processes to resolve the problems they have within the company.
