Basically, Red Tag is an online travel metasearch engine wherein they help customer’s deals for vacation packages, airfares, hotel reservations, cruises and car rentals. Red Tag Last Minute is also part of their service where travellers check out with the last minute travel deals.

The Las Vegas section of Red Tag provides a list of vacation deals to Las Vegas listed from the cheapest with promo duration date and room type from the hotel-casino deals. It’s pretty much similar with the Last Minute service however the only focus here is Las Vegas.
Red Tag Reviews-pageIf customers are travelling in a group, the Group Vacations tab services customers either for Group Vacation Deals, Destination Weddings or Corporate Vacations. This service will be asking for traveller’s full name, email address, phone number, type of vacation, quantity of travellers and date preferences. Then after filling out this information, it will ask customers to hit “Request Quote.”

For this review, I tried using that service and it just lead me to a page that thanks me and says I am one step closer to my unforgettable group vacation and that’s it, nothing happened afterwards. I was actually expecting a list of group vacation deals. I wonder what’s the sense of filling out that information?

Lowest Price Calendar is another service Red Tag provides which enables a calendar version of a user’s desired packages and deals. I tried using it, by selecting “Montreal” as my location, “All Canada and United States” as my preferred destination, for 7-8 days within May 2016 and all inclusive. After hitting search, I got an error message saying “There were no results available for your request.” That didn’t make me slightly happy.
Live Chat support is also offered by Red Tag. This option is located at the bottom left of the page where it shows a red chat box saying “Need Help?” and will ask customers to click chat now, then an additional pop-up chat box will appear showing it’s McAfee secured.

If you’re thinking about booking a flight with Red Tag, think twice. I scan through different Red Tag reviews and saw several complaints. The most recent was by Ryan from Burnaby, Canada asking others to stay away from Red Tag because they screwed up their ticket from Montreal to Vancouver. He complained and had a conversation with a Customer Service Coordinator via e-mail for about 6 months and the problem remains unresolved. He gave them a rating of ⅕.

In The End

Reading Red Tag reviews makes me wonder: if this is considered a successful Canadian online travel agency then why it doesn’t have any achievements or awards, given the years they’ve been in business alone? What are your opinions about this? Feel free to leave a comment below.

  1. Read some pretty poor reviews before I booked, or attempted, to book a flight. Sadly, they are true. Untrustworthy, clearly attempting to obtain bookings without any intention of honoring the price. And to top it all, even though I am in Vancouver, attempting to pay with an RBC Visa, I suddenly am asked to pay cash because the flight originates in Africa. Next time flag it on your site so that you don’t waste people time.

  2. I booked a flight for $328 only to get emailed the next day saying the booking was unconfirmed and offering a $537 alternative. I phoned in and they said that was the best they could do and they couldn’t confirm my booking because I booked online 38 minutes after closing. I informed them the flight was still on their website for $367 to which they replied sometimes there’s better deal on the site??? So I rebook for the higher price of $367. As soon as my flight is confirmed the price is back down to $328 for the exact same flight number!
