Top 5 Worst Airlines in the World
As Zig Ziglar once said, “Expect the best, prepare for the worst.” We are always being aware of the good, that we least recognize the worst.
We always have an idea about the list of the best airlines in the world. But have we ever tried to wonder if there are other airports which are considered the worst? No superman will be able to save these airlines. In this article, we will talk about the Top 5 Worst Airlines in the World. Please be notified this list is not ranked or recorded by one person’s discretion. These facts were also based from the list of Business Insider.
#5 Air China
First on our list is Air China, but to be honest when we gathered all the possible contenders in this list, we also stumbled upon China Eastern and China Southern Airlines. Since Air China was mentioned more often from reviews and listings, we have decided to include it here. To get into further details, the reasons why Air China is considered one of the worst airlines are due to the following: a sudden profit sag in 2013, unexplained delayed flights and what’s more alarming is the fact that the flight attendants on board are too friendly. Maybe you are wondering why being too friendly is bad for Air China. It’s because their over friendliness makes them careless and not strict with the airline policies, the crew members forget to ask passengers to buckle their safety belts, passengers keep walking around the cabin during take-off, and some critics even made sarcastic jokes, saying it was the “perks” of Air China (based on Skytrax).
#4 US Airways
This airline recently snapped up in a merger from their rival (American Airlines), they were too proud that they can stand alone. But I guess being on the list now, tells a different story. Well, let’s get into the facts. The reasons why they’re recorded here is due to the countless of consumer feedback that complained about their two old aircraft (since they were established in 1930s). However, what really made a mark to travelling lives happened back in 2013 when they had lost and destroyed the baggages of 105,730 passengers (in reference to Department of Transportation). Not only that, but they also prevented more than 6,000 people from boarding. Why? It’s because of overbooked flights. Just imagine the hassle if you are one of these passengers either damaged/lost baggages or cancelled flights, it will definitely be frustrating.
Yes, they are a budget airline but that’s not a good reason to provide disorganized quality of service. They have a similar case with US Airways with unaware overbooking. We all know that travelling is in demand, but with the right accommodation and in-track of bookings no “overbooking” will happen. SkyScanner even complained about the airlines excessively restrictive size requirements for carry-on luggage. While on Skytrax, passengers are ratting out about the false advertisement of their frequent flyer program, particularly the “Speedy Boarding”. Another instance was when one passenger was denied boarding because he tweeted his dissatisfaction over easyJet. Not letting the passenger in proves them guilty of the man’s accusation. Why so defensive easyJet?
#2 Spirit Airlines
Another low-cost airline . This time, the major complaint about this airline was due to hidden fees and charges. It is quite surprising that Fox News had once reported that “Spirit Airlines has extra fees down to a science”. Because normally, a budget airline easily processes refunds because they understand it’s for low-cost travelling purposes, but passengers from Spirit Airlines had listed several cases wherein refunds were never processed at all. Plus, the fact that they ask for a fee of $50 for a carry-on bag, that’s ridiculous. A report was wisely examined that Spirit Airlines garnered same complaints over and over, but was still awarded as the most profitable airline. Something’s fishy here.
Ryanair, another low-cost carrier, tops the not so honorable list of Top 5 Worst Airlines in the World. What made them number one? Almost same concern, but they gathered it all. Unexplained delayed flights, last-minute fees and pressure sales during the flight that even includes charity calendars. It is quite sad that despite the bright colors of the airline the shadow still surfaces. Ryanair had already faced several court cases regarding revoked free tickets and disapproval of boarding a paid passenger. Ryanair may be mindful about the space inflight that seats don’t recline. This had gravely affected the airline and despite the efforts to boost business traveler traffic, passengers and potential customers don’t want to be lured by the ultra-low cost carrier’s flights.
You have just read the worst out of these airlines, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make a change out of what happened. Actually, being listed as one of the worst is not funny, not even close to amusing, but this can be a challenge for each airlines to stand up from shame and prove to others, that it’s not yet over. Remember! The list can be the best when mocked.
