The birth of Venus? Venere’s symbolic logo as Venus; goddess of love and beauty’s birth. What kind of image has Venere shown their customers? Let us take a closer look.
Venere was founded in 1995 by Mr. Marco Bellacci who is now retired and out of the business. Venere was bought by Expedia in July 2008 after the retirement of Mr. Bellacci.
The current Chief Executive Officer of Venere, Mr. Dara Khosrowshahi, is a 46-year old Iranian-American businessman who is also the CEO of Expedia. He also operates over 150 booking travel sites such as Hotels.com, Hotwire, Egencia and Trivago.
Venere’s logo was inspired by the painting of Sandro Botticelli which was painted in the mid 1480s.
Venere Services and Mobile app
Venere provides customers the option to search for hotel reservations, b&b and apartments. It will ask customers to enter the check-in date, check-out date and how many rooms. The page’s wallpaper is the famous Eiffel tower in Paris. The lower part of the page promotes their current hotel deals and discounts with information about the save percentage rate and list of cities included in the deal.
Venere Newsletter, is their email subscription in which customers are given the option to subscribe and receive alerts and deals about Venere’s latest offers straight to their inbox, and save up to 50%.
Venere’s Mobile app is another option to access their services. The customers are entitled to see the hotel reviews by real guests, search for hotel reservations, b&b and apartments. Almost the same with online itself. The mobile app is available for iOS and Android.
Venere Reviews and Complaints
In this Venere review, the online hotel search engine is getting a lot of complaints. This isn’t what we expected with the beauty of Venus. One recent reviewer said “I recently booked accommodation with Venere.com and they have deducted more money that what was needed. I have emailed them several times and have not heard from anyone!!
This is ridiculous! I had responses from the hotels but not the booking guys. I am so irritated and just want an answer and a refund of the extra that was taken. The Hotels has mentioned that Expedia paid for the accommodation and said that I need to contact the company I was dealing with.” She gave Venere a ⅕ rating by ConsumerAffairs.com

Fading Beauty of Venere
In this Venere review, it seems like the online hotel and apartments search engine really has a poor standing in the travel industry. Ever since the founder sold Venere to Expedia there wasn’t much growth. How long will they last? Feel free to comment your thoughts below!
