Zürich Airport Reviews
Do you know which country has not gone to war since 1505? How about the country where high-quality watches are made? More? Chocolate and cheese. Yes, now you are right. We are talking about Switzerland. Zürich city, which was founded by the Romans, lies in the north central part of this multilingual country (Italian, German, French, and Romansh). Those are the facts that make Switzerland famous.
Let me give you one infamous trivia about this country. Since the economy of Switzerland is not dependent on the government, the Swiss Bank can easily make secretive transactions and was, in fact, countlessly involved with black money stocks of people worldwide.
Since we are traveling, the call of nature or the necessity to use the restroom and shower room is inevitable. At Zürich Airport, the toilets are kept clean. However, some feedback say that the restroom locations are not passenger-friendly. On a positive note, there are two shower facilities found in the following areas: Landside, Service Center, multi-storey car park 2, level 1 and Airside, Transit D, next to the day rooms. However, usage is not free. It costs CHF 15 which includes a bath towel, toiletries, and a hair dryer.
For assistance, there are 5 information desks located throughout the airport and each are found near the Arrivals 1, Arrivals 2, Service Center Car Park 2, Check-in 2, Transfer, and the Shopping Zone. The special assistance desks are located in the departure halls.
Other facilities are added to accommodate the needs of some travelers. These include four smokers’ lounges located in the landslide and eighteen in the airside. If a passenger is in need of medical or dental attention, there are three clinics found at Prime Center 1 area which operate daily from 7:00 AM – 8:30 PM. Foreign exchange centers are located in both airside and landside which also include 24-hour-operated ATM currency dispensers.
There are 33 food establishments and several shops found inside the airport, but please be advised that although the airport is operational for 24 hours, the stores and establishments are not.
Yes, there’s Wifi at the Zürich Airport. However, it is only free for the first 60 minutes. This actually needs registration and a confirmation code by SMS. If travelers wish to use the Wifi after 60 minutes paid Internet connection service, an additional time of 1 hour is at 6.90 CHF or unlimited access for 24 hours is at 14.90 CHF. Internet kiosks are also found both in the landside and airside with free usage for the first 60 minutes.
The simplified way to explain how to get to the airport is by driving east along the A1 highway; if travelling from Glattbrugg, make sure to turn left at the junction and drive north to ZRH. The airport is located at the left hand side. For broader directions from North, South, East, and West, click here.

It is quite obvious that Zürich Airport has a lot to offer, because they are more than just an airport. They actually deserve an at least 8/10 rating from the overall facts that we gathered. Or, maybe there are some things that we need to discover on our own while at the airport to rank it as just average. Maybe, because of the limited WIFI access? Who knows?
